after completing two consecutive BSc degrees at the university of calgary, mortar & pestle designer jillian zdunich decided it was time to pursue her artistic side and in 2010, she relocated to vancouver in order to attend the fashion design program at blanche macdonald centre.
upon graduating, jillian continued her full-time design work and in early 2011, she went on to launch her vancouver based fashion label, mortar & pestle apparel.
with every garment, jillian commits her primary attention to fit, detail, and overall wearability. she describes her designs as comfortable, easy to wear, and complementary to any wardrobe. the overall aesthetic of the brand is classic, feminine, simple and understated.
